Cap'n K

 Meet the newest addition to the family.  We affectionately call him Captain K-man.

And he's ALL BOY.

All Superhero boy.

He's been with us for a little over 4 months now, but sometimes it seems like he's always been here.  We have our ups and downs, but all in all, he fits in well here.

Other than size.  That's the no-brainer that he's not related.  He just turned 3 and he's weighs more the Gloria.  Though he's just a few months older than Nathan, he towers over him and talks circles around him too.

 Cap'n K loves the spot light.  It seems most meals end up being a competition between him and Gloria for the most words spouted, sense-making being completely optional.

He loved Aaron and Nathan's superhero capes so when Cap'n K turned 3, he got one of his own.

 And what kid doesn't like baby animals?  Of course, he is always willing to give a bottle, fill up buckets, or carry eggs.  Every meal he begs to be my "server", the kid who puts each person's bowl or plate onto the table at their place.  Now if I could only safely teach him to wash dishes...

We took in a baseball game not too long ago and Cap'n K was insistent on seeing the mascot, Cubbie.  We had to leave before the game was over so went on a hunt for him.  K saw him from a good long ways off and went running for him.  Not sure Cubbie knew right off what had just plowed into him with such force.  But the hug was precious.  It made K's night.

Everyone always wants to know the future.  All I can say is we're blessed to have him for as long as we have him.  That could be only for another couple months or another couple years.  We just don't know.  But adoption is not in his future.  He has extended family who want him if the ideal goal needs to be abandoned. 

And given the gusto with which he sings Jesus Loves Me, this kid is going to be just fine.
